Over the last few months I completely shifted everything, chucked three older software programs and replaced them with three others, added and deleted data feeds.

So on the machines, my History Files are limited.

On Paper, I have SPxx Charts but nothing on the DJIA.

In my case, the relevance would be to the data that I do have, which is historical on certain specifics relevant to each day over the last ten years, roughly, on certain characteristics of the DJIA and the SPxx.

For example, July 1998 the DJIA Closed Positive relative to the prior week on

6/26
7/2
7/10
7/17

For a total of 4 weeks. Now I would be interested in knowing whether W/E July 17 or July 24 was an Outside Week. Because it would lend more "weight" to the data from a predictive point of view.

Another piece of data about that period was that, relative to where it was a week prior (each day) the SP8U closed positive every day. (it may not have closed positive relative to the Prior Day, but always Positive to the prior Week in all 24 days).

So picking up shreds of data like that refines the data in the sense that it aids in smoothing out the noise. But adding it to the data base would require looking at 10 years of weekly charts and making 520 Entries. Not such a big deal, I suppose.

I just don't see myself getting to that in the near future.
