Well Elizabeth, I'm sure that you have presented one possible view of it and let me assure you that I am not in a "flap".
Many people believe that the part of Valadero currently beginning to be fully explored holds huge potential. If the diamond drills continue to yield much higher assays than the RC drills the value will be greatly enhanced and very much a stand alone project of significant proportions.
The vast area of the El Indio belt that ARP controls may hold multiple similar deposits. The surface has barely been scratched.
We may soon see a much higher silver price and gold can take off to who knows where. If China devalues everyone in Asia is going to try and grab some gold before the western world catches on.
The way I see it is that Barrick has a better idea of where the gold market is going than anyone. They fully expect a big jump sometime soon. I believe that they also had a very good idea that Valadero could easily superceed the Pasqua in size and economics.
I think that Barrick sought to take advantage of the ignorance and fear of the average shareholder so that Valadero would pay the full costs of developing Pasqua for free.
Excellent deal for Barrick and they should have both been a little more polite and generous in their approach. Instead it had all the makings of a smash and grab and the extortion was done by Barrick.
Keep one eye on the price of gold and silver and the other eye on the drill results for the next while. The ARP shareholders still have all their gold and I would predict that it will amount to much more than a little dip in the share price. ARP may very well have the drills turning on some other good targets at lower elevations to keep us entertained while the snow falls on the top of the mountain.
If they were to get several other projects going on their El Indio property it would certainly make things interesting.
