The more i think about it the more i come to believe that all these vse stocks are giant ponzi schemes with a lot of people usually small guys left holding the baby.in terms of the natural resource sector these really are deflationary times.the price of oil is the lowest in real terms for many years presumably due to production being higher than demand.it doesnt seem as though it is going to turn around anytime soon.in terms of natural gas the price is holding up better but i wonder how long that will last one could imagine many large users of energy switching back into oil if it is cheaper than gas . also there is a huge surplus of gas in canada and more pipelines being built to bring the gas down to the usa .in addition the canadian dollar is very low so exploration and developement will be much cheaper in canada than the usa than before just due to currency factors alone.epic of course has the problem in reverse because they are raising funds in canadian dollars to explore in the usa in us dollars , this is a significant disadvantage right now with the canadian peso whops i meant dollar being close to historic lows.i just find it hard to believe then that much will happen here and if it does it will be time to bail out .
only one of my remaining natural resource stocks is doing well and that is pangea all the rest are dead meat and i wish i didnt own any .owning a significant amount of oil gas and oil service stocks has been a recipe for disasterthis year even if you own companies that are solid never mind the speculative ones.sooner or later i guess that it will turn around but for the majors first and then the medium sized companies and then the small ones but that could be years away .arh
