Another questions for the experts...
Last weekend, upgraded my Dad's computer with new CPU, MB, and video card. All tested OK when connected to cable. (he's an AOL victim). While connected, I took the opportunity to pick off all updates, etc. (win98, NAV, etc.)
Now that he's back home and on AOL, everything is fine, EXCEPT he is unable to access his Fidelity account, either w/ AOL browser, or by opening up IE. He gets the "unable to connect" screen. most other web sites are fine. We have attempted to adjust all security settings, etc. He sought tech support from Fidelity, who coincidentally determined that Dad was also unable to access other IP addresses within the 293. domain??? (I'm getting this all second hand, so bear with me). Repeated calls to AOL customer service resulted in him receiving a 15 pg checklist of items, which he is presently working through, starting with "make sure system meets minimum standards".
Any ideas, other that reinstall of Win98 or AOL?
Thanks, Dewey |
