Excuse me? I don't know many companies that spend money on product
development for the sole purpose of then giving the product away. I'm
sure glad you're not running MY company, we'd have had to shut down
a long time ago with no revenues. I suggest you review the historical
facts upon which your criticisms are based. There was absolutely no
reason for Netscape to give away its browser when it was first
developed. It wasn't until Mr. Gates decided to use unfair (some
would say illegal) tactics to gain market share with an inferior
product that a problem was presented to Netscape. I'll grant that
Netscape management probably didn't make the best decisions they
may have, but then again, we're all pretty brilliant with 20/20
hindsight aren't we.
