I posted on the other thread last night, that I am convinced the Bush white house never meant for this type of deficit. Supply siders generally believe taxes are too high so when the treasury was overfunded they systematically looted it- probably thinking the next upcycle would create another surplus. This econ team is so brain dead they can't forsee trends.

The press in the states that Bush has to win in 04 is negative. I don't think he can take ohio or indiana and if he doesn't all is lost.

Most Hoosiers approve of Bush _ but not his economic policies
Half of those who took part in the poll said they think the nation is headed in the right direction, with 42 percent saying things are on the wrong track.

Only 40 percent of those polled felt Indiana is headed in the right direction.

Al Hubbard, the former state Republican Party chairman who worked in the first Bush administration, said polls show growing optimism nationally about the economy _ an optimism that is lagging in Indiana.

"It's because Indiana is doing worse than the rest of the nation," Hubbard said.
