Martin I think you'll be happy with either firewall. Both are topnotch programs. Why not try ZA free and see if it does everything you're looking for. I'm using ZA Pro only because I paid for it. Had I to do it over, I'd go the freebie route. I've heard of no problems with AdAware so I think it's a good choice as well. I don't use instant messaging but have seen many recommendations for Trillian. It handles AIM, Yahoo and several other messaging programs. I've been using this RegCleaner for quite some time and haven't run into a problem yet. vtoy.fi tc ps: As with all programs....YMMV
