Hi Brian, I need to catch up on the boards. I have a problem only on SI and I have to keep refreshing my browser to get the next post in order. I have almost gave up on it. I snnt SI a trouble report but they have not replied. No one else seems to be having a problem so I might have a configuration wrong. The important thing in our lives today is to remember that when we have nothing left but God then we will find that it is enough. I was reading my new Guideposts issue and a story in it made me realize just how greatful I am that my problems seem small. A man and his wife had a life dedicated to Jesus and they had house, jobs, beautiful daughters; everything that a Christian could want and one of the daughters was seeing a Christian counselor about a small problem and the counselor convinced her, than the other daughters that they had been sexually abused by their dad, with the mom's knowledge. Well, it went to a hearing, and this family lost everything, except their trust in God. They lost all, even contact with their daughters for a number of years. He passed polygraph and they did not arrest him, but it came out that the daughters, after not seeing the counselor for some time, began to realize that what they remembered was a memory placed into their subconscious by the counselor. They were all eventually reunited and his credibility regained to some degree, but they could not understand why God would bring such troubles upon them.
My thought is that it perhaps was to deepen their faith but I am still wondering but accepting that God is everything. We need to keep deep in his Word to try to develop a faith that will not waiver. Could we be like Job, and say that we will trust him even thou he slay us? It is easy to say, "Oh yes, I would say that" but can we say that sincerely if we have not been tested as deeply as Job?
Hope you are having a good weekend.
