Tech2000, <<I have been puzzled why it had not gone up yesterday. Concluded that a lot has to do with the Windows computer bug and the Compaq Alpha chip stories, it seems logical.>>

I'm not sure why MSFT was down yesterday either. However, I did notice something strange at the close. I had bought Aug 85 put options and waited to unload until the final trading minutes of the day. Much to my surprise, I sold the puts at a 3/8 premium to the price of the stock. That is, I sold at 1 3/4. My take on this occurrence was that there was a scramble at the end of the day by put sellers that were willing to buy back their options at a premium.

I don't know the relevance of this event and what it portents, if anything for Monday's trading. It may indicate that options had a major role in trading for the day.

What's your take? Sir Francis, if you're reading the thread, what's yours?

Regards
