Mike, You are right, I have worked for a few companies here, and know how emotionally attached one can get. To the Micron bulls, I really feel for you as its going to be a rough year. I think by Jan next year things will be looking up. The dynamic nature of the memory market keeps me interested. How to make money in this market is a tough one only a few lucky or geniunely intouch individuals know how the news will cause a stock to react especially Microns. Micron is a US company and I do hope they survive. If I were them I would definitely sell the PC company as Dell is taking the aim on any companies that are weak. Gateway has a better chance than Micron, AST, or Packardhell. Maybe the semi plant would do better making solar cells, thats up and coming. I guess you can tell I am holding puts right now. This stock is heading for the tank as soon as everyone figures out that earnings going negative is going to have to take some real goood news to turn it around. One of Saddam's Scuds would have to land on a bunch of DRAM Fabs to turn heads on this stock once earnings come out. If any of you bulls are hoping for 64M to turn Micron around, by the time Micron gets any Sync parts out the price will be around $12 ea. I hope they are doing some pre-shrinks before they launch or they will be wrapping dollar bills around the parts. The only other prayer is the government dumping decisions, I have to admit that is a possibility. Its been going on now for four years, Its like the Intel AMD lawsuit, it went for so long, everyone just wanted it to end and be done with it, pay off the lawyers and move on. I'm sure Clinton has a similar analogy there with Jones. Good luck/ |
