I agree 1000%.
The REAL ideas that will explode this revolution into the stratosphere and beyond this Old solar system are contained, cared for and entrusted among a growing body of virtual networkers who are communicating in open trust channels such as we experience here on SI.
You would not believe the power of some of the stuff we are working on.
And I'm sure there are ideas inside your head, Scott's, Toy's, Peter and others which - IF consolidated, aggregated
and factored - would simply blow away what Microsoft, Novell, Sun are anyone of the Biggies out there may be working on right now.
We are at a time in world history where "thought" is far outpacing ACTIONS.
Billions are being invested in pure "thought" right now. Look at Amazon and all the rest of these supposed "titans" of e-commerce.
But I believe what we are seeing on the net today is NOT what the future will be about.
These first portals are scrambling to find an ongoing justification for why we will continue to need Amazon, Yahoo, etc.
I think these models are flawed. Why? For the power has indeed shifted.
NEW networks WILL be created which will be private, secure and yet highly leveraged.
For if you have a transforming thought or idea today, it's could be worth billions.
I think technology will become more and more transparent.
The REAL game will be "out there" among people who inspire others to "think differently." The New Model will be all about gathering people together in these "new" networks for a defined value-added reason or cause.
The objective is to created positive energy loops that map Einstein's equation:
E = mc (squared)
....where...
M (meaning) = i (information) X t (transformations)
For THIS is why the Internet is exploding. A positive SERVICE energy is radiating throughout the world right now.
And the thoughts and spirit behind this energy need a secure home for we are NOT living in a desert anymore.
The Old model wants us all to believe that we live in a hot, dangerous desert where hate, anger and fear prevail. The Old model wants us to believe we need to go to various Oasises - companies, govt., portals, etc. - to get our food, drink and fruit to survive.
For the past millenium and beyond the world has convinced the average person that this is the RIGHT model: driven by scarcity, limits, restrictions, fear, anger, etc.
For the past millenium and beyond the coin has been "tails up."
But I say the coin has been flipped. It's "heads up" now.
The reality is that we live in a Garden of Eden, a tropical paradice of aubundance, food, fruit, ideas and positive energy where there are NO LIMITS!!
The IS no fixed pie anymore.
It's all a matter of perspective.
When you "get" this perspective you will find yourself viewing the world as a completely different place, filled with people who CAN be motivated to "see" things differently and who CAN get into the energy of helping and serving others in ways which create positive energy loops that is the driving force behind the growth of the Internet.
The energy is "out there." We've been sharing a very small dose of it on this board.
But going forward, people who open up and share their cards, energy and spirit will band together to create, maintain and grow their own networks which will overlap and help other networks.
Companies have lost the ball. The Old Business model has been obliterated. It's over, finished, done.
We are at THE flux point right now. Look at what has happened in just the past 2 weeks in the Telecom world. Wholesale orginiation and termination LD charges have dropped through the floor. Ebbers knew this was coming so he HAD to make his grab for Sprint.
CLECs are being snatched up right and left.
There is NO energy in the LD commodity game anymore. The world HAS to get right smack into being able to offer EXPANDED SERVICES which map the IP Revolution: add value, open up, end all the restrictions, etc.
We are right in the early stages of what I have referred to as Wave 3 - the rise of the Individual. The e-commerce wave - Wave 2 - is over. Portals will be unbundled. Companies all over the world will have to scramble madly in any and all ways as they try to convince themselves that they still have these powers of bundling and factoring the TIME and TRUST of individuals into their economic "business" models.
It's really a fun sight to watch all this happening.
You think we've been moving fast. Just watch the pace of change speed and accelerate like a lightning bolt - zapping and invalidating business models right and left.
To survive EVERY company must "see" and understand the earthquake that happening right now. For the coin has been flipped.
Throw out EVERYTHING you thought you knew about the Internet.
Get back to basics. Think of the power of thought. We all possess the "ultimate" power of the Internet inside us. Thought, spirit and prayer.
And people are going to be embracing this energy in massive radiating, expansive ways going forward.
And YES we are going to eventually say "good bye" to these crude IP communication platforms such as here on SI.
We will take our thoughts, spirit and energy to "new" homes where people will gather who map the same energy.
The world is NOT a desert anymore.
