Low-priced options expire worthless very often. One should strive to sell this (via covered calls or naked puts). Buying low-priced options make sense mainly as form of hedging strategy.

Might I be impolite enough to ask - what do you consult in, which part of the country, what rates in that part of the country for s.t. assignments, how do you do it (via employee of co. with W-2 or via 1099) and what is your opinion/experience about the whole thing ?
Feel free to completely ignore this question if you consider this too intrusive.
