Non-repudiation . . .

"The NAT does not play any dangerous role when it comes to true
e-commerce transaction where non-repudiation is designed into the conversation (i.e. digital certificates)."

Digital certificates do not ensure non-repudiation if they rely on self-identification by a PIN and/or a token. These things can get taken or passed around. To have true non-repudiation, the digital signature has to be personal to the signer. I.e., no true authentication, no true non-repudiation.
