Are you sure about this? Maybe this is policy for your particular broker. I don't think this is standard with options. Course I've never let one expire that was at least 1/4 in the money. But this doesn't sound right. What if you don't want to exercise and lay out all the cash? John, I am sure. One must give instructions not to exercise if more than 1/4 in the money and vice versa. Otherwise, it is automatic. Glenn
