Isn't being on the cover of Newsweek or Time a recognized indicator that one's importance has peaked? I've never heard anyone say this, but I have heard people claim that when a CEO appears on the cover of a 'national' magazine, the stock price usually deteriorates afterward. However, in cleaning out my 'archives' this weekend, I came across a 94 BusinessWeek with Gates on the cover. Anyone selling Microsoft at that time because of that photo has good reason to regret their decision today. Let's not follow their flawed lead. Cheers, PW.
