Well

the reason I asked is that I thought you might have insight as to the cost ramifications of the various alternatives.

The telephone company in some countries is owned by the government and I would presume in most countries is regulated by the government.

The issue of the cost to access is very important to global expansion and many people havent even thought of that. I can guarantee you my surfing time would be reduced if I had to pay a time tick charge to access.

This time tick concern ignores the social and socio-economic issues....but for cost ... in my example somewhere else I used Turkey as I have lived there. There is a big Turkish population in Germany and they may have been assimilated to the "german way" but I can tell you in Turkey the general population can't afford computers and internet access..even if it was the kind of system we have here in the U.S....and even if they could....there would be a cultural issue.

I dont know how the government regulates these other alternatives in other countries. So saying using cable or wireless communication is going to change things and make it less costly is not something someone should automatically assume. And if my cable company would charge 30 a month for access (if I could get it) would a foreign cable company be as cheap...they aren't when it comes to the phone bill for local access nor are they for international calls.

The alternatives are there for lower cost international calls, but most countries don't have them (last time I asked)

I thought you might have some insight to the lowering of cost as this is a key issue to me.
