penni, there are things you can use on metal. Ish may know a name. You could also call Marine stores and ask them, especially if there is one that does repairs. I marked a couple of sites, then had to run out of the house to work, but there are websites that sell polaris products. If repairs don't work you can order or pick one up without paying $100 for someone to tell you what you know.
