What is supporting an otherwise sagging keister is the metal price girdle, that allows the otherwise doggy metal miners to do the occasional burp upwards on increasing sentiment. So far very few homeruns a la Aurelian. This market is fairly weakly stable, which is not truly reflective of the miner's potential earnings if they get geared up with el mine. The nineties by contrast had so so metal prices but a period of very ebullient plays where there were dozens of ten bangers and many many so so plays were in the plus a buck range. We are suffering from the shadow of Bre -X and the fallout of the mining market sag still. 2007 may be a positive sentiment year. If it is, then the fall may well be quite vigorous.

Disclosure: I am usually wrong long.
