True you needn't pick one at all to exclude if you prefer trying to reach consensus by agreeing which were the best. I especially liked a lot of what LeGuin wrote about sexuality and thought her ruminations on power and economics (The Dispossessed, in particular) were somewhat simplistic.

Do you have any other authors or novels as nominees?

And as long as you and I agree that, "Left Hand of Darkness" was her best who else is here to dispute our exquisite literary sensibilities? <VBG>
