Indeed there is no recession right now. Business cycles are inevitable. It would be foolish to think otherwise. I've lived through a number of them, and depending on your age, you've either lived through exactly as many as I have, or perhaps a few more, or a few less. nber.org Financials are definitely struggling right now. So are the housing markets. It's happened before, will happen again. Bargain hunters will appear to pick up the pieces, and the cycle will begin again. It is not possible to predict when this will occur, but it will. Some will lose, some will win. Nevertheless, real GDP is up, and so is real personal income. Jay has an outsized personality, with a lot of dramatic flair. He loves to play computer games, and uses a lot of imagery derived from movies and computer games to enhance reality, shall we say.
