Brazil runs all its cars on sugar cane ethanol, have been doing so for decades. Public transport, carpooling, biofuel, telecommuting, smaller vehicles, rewarding conservation, punishing guzzlers, lowering the air conditioning, turning off lights, insulating, using lots of solar and wind, going hybrid, all these are things we can do right now until we develop the hydrogen car or whatever comes next.
Legalizing hemp and using that to make oil would also help. It's so silly that hemp is still illegal.
Bottomline though, we need to start consuming. So Jerry Brown was right. |
