The reason I buy premium, high-mileage rubber is a percieved safety superiority. I never try to extract the the maximum tread life. I often drive ,uh...agressively, and of course, I want maximum safety and security for my wife's ride, so I don't skimp on that expense.

BTW, I also run Dunlops (D60-A2's) on my MR2 Turbo. They are not the ultimate performance tire, but the MR2 has a healthy appetite for tires, about 8000 miles with the original Bridgestone Turanzas, but about 12000 with the Dunlops.
