Henry, this doesn't seem to be a "big" loss for GILD, according to the the companies reaction. I wonder if biotech companies get full reinbursement for their treatments, during these testing stages. If not, then the Federal government saves money, thru Medicare/Medicaid, via the FDA slowing down the approval process and keeping the biotechs in "testing" mode. Lately, the FDA has been requesting additional info from biotechs. Could they have other motivations besides trying to assure safe and effective new drugs?
