I got First Call fax from Schwab today showing estimates of Compucom. The fax showed about 6 brokers dropping current year earnings estimates. The consensus estimates are now less than 1997 earnings. I am supprised the stock held up at all. If CMPC supprises on the upside should be very positive for value. I will be interested if SFE discusses it during their conference call tomorrow. Lehman's report mentioned consolidation in industry. SFE indicates that it will let it's ownership drop below 50%. I wonder if they might try to sell it. Pure speculation on my part, but I doubt sfe is happy with its performance. Robert D.
