Mike, having followed your posts for quite awhile, I can see why you would hate them at first glance.
The technology edge that NTAP has is it file storage system. They have a file system called WAFL which is only 120K lines of code, compared to UNIX which is over 5 million lines. Because it was designed for I/O only, it is the fastest file server in the industry.
The other key thing is that it is designed to support Multiple file systems. Unlike UNIX which only supports NFS, WAFL supports NFS today and will support SMB and HTTP in september. And this is on the same box at the same time. Since they are stored under the WAFL file system, a file is accessible by either UNIX and NT servers or workstations.
Unlike the 100's of commands of UNIX , NTAP filers have only 33 commands, therefore, it is very easy to setup and manage.
The Internet is going to be big and it dosen't matter who wins the Inter/Intranet race, UNIX or NT, NTAP plays in both markets.
