Anyone think this is related to the pending Asian financial summit wherein will be discussed, as recently announced, backing their currencies with gold? If this is the case, it speaks volumes about the world's continuing reliance upon "that barbarous relic" and, in fact, may herald at least a short term demise in Western central banker's support of fiat currencies. ...could also drive up US interest rates as Asian cash would move away from Treasury issues.
