I have a question related to my first one I asked about on this thread:

I no longer hear the dialing sounds, however, the modem often makes a rather loud popping sound when it initializes and/or hangs up. Also, when my line 2, which is hooked through the modem to a Brother multi-function printer/copier/fax/etc (MFC8500) rings, the popping is staccato all the while it is ringing.

Any ideas?
