good one, tc.

works in win95. i entered the name of the screensaver into find file, like you said. when it was displayed, i right-clicked and selected create shortcut. the prompt came back, 'can not create shortcut here, would you like to create one on your desktop?' say yes, and there it is. to turn on the screensaver i right-click the desktop icon and select 'test'. contrary to how it sounds (test), the screensaver is then turned on for good and, because i have mine password protected, i must enter the password to get beyond the screensaver.

that should be just what rick wanted.

:)
