Hi there,
Thank you for all your reply and links. That is a great help.
I am now living in Saskatchwan, Canada.
In 1996 and 1997, I traded American stocks using both Royal action direct ( Canadian broker) and Datek online ( American broker). From 1998, I only use Datek because Action direct service fee is usually 5 times higher than that of Datek. In 1996 and 1997, I have a huge loss trading stock compared with my other income, I even did not claim my loss because of my bad mood that time. At the end of 1998, I invested my last thousand bucks into some internet stocks, my luck changed, I almost get all my money back.
So in 1998 alone, I have a big profit, I decided to claim this gain in my 1998 Tax Return, and also fix my 1996 and 1997 return to include loss in those two years.
I went to my local Revenue Canada asking them how to calculate my trading, they told me they were not sure! Now I am still waiting for their reply.
Good luck on trading
