European Union Announces Evaluation of Trikon`s Planar 300 by ST, Philips and AMD in Collaboration With International SEMATECH and TU Chemnitz

NEWPORT, Wales, Apr 23, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Trikon Technologies, Inc. (TRKN, Trade) today reported that the Community Research & Development Information Service (CORDIS) of the European Union has published at their web site www.cordis.lu details of the European Union funded program "Advanced CVD Tool for Integration of Organosilicate Nanoporous Films".
The objective of this program is to evaluate Trikon's Planar 300(TM) CVD equipment and ORION(TM) 2.2 CVD (chemical vapor deposition) ultra low k film by a consortium consisting of; ST Microelectronics, Philips Semiconductors, AMD, International SEMATECH and the Technical University of Chemnitz.
