I as a gas rookie appreciate the explanations.As I understand a horizantal well can be 14,500 feet TD but only have a TVD of say 6-8000 due to the angle of drilling.
As to mud pressures that is like a blow out control solution used to counter upward pressures to prevent a blowout.The mud pressures have to be increased as well bore pressures increase to keep upward pressure offset.Is this correct?
On a program I was watching a week or so ago on gas exploration on Sable they had surface control of directional drilling so could drill step out wells to gauge the size of the reserve.What amazed me was how they were able to do that.It appeared it was done by computer controls.I have alot to learn.Another play I am in is just starting to spud the first of five wells on the firstof November in Alberta with an additional 5-10 in the winter.Guess I have some research to do.Thanks for the help.
