nope, you got it wrong. A carrier in the 800 Mhz band has 12.5 Mhz in which they can mix what they want. The analog channels are 210 khz wide, so for 1.2288 Mhz, you need to get rid of 5 analog channels.

GSM has just about the same channelization, so hence they can do the same. AT&T has to do the same thing in ther stuff, whichg is to have the A band be a couple of peices split up. It is like 10 MHz and a 2.5 Mhz peice split apart. So if they put in GSM in their freq spectrum, then they are doing it just like the analog guys are or the CDMa guys are.
