The large amounts I made in VISX don't cover the large amounts I have lost in WSTL, an oil service stock I like(TMAR) and PTEC during the small cap bear market.

It's kind of ironic because over the past two years I've avoided large cap stocks like the plague since I felt they were 'over-valued'. So I ended up getting crushed by my 'under-valued' small-cap stocks.

I still like the small cap stocks I'm holding. I really like software stocks, but I am getting tired of waiting on PTEC trying to figure out how to grow earnings. My oil service stocks will eventually have their day (and it will be spectacular when it happens) it's just a question of how long I'll have to wait. WSTL I'm not terribly sure on. The lesson I learned there was that no matter how good your product, if your customers are large regulated utilities with a vested interest in seeing you not succeed, at the very least, you are going to lose money for a long time. I'm still pulling for them though, because one day I would love to have one of their high speed modems.

If you are going to start a new contest though, I fear that I would have to pick a large cap stock. That might be just the kick in the pants the small-cap market needs...
