Surviving Hard Times

Bart007 >>>Trillions ...... Over $11 trillion in national debt plus a $11 trillion Social Security shortfall plus $37 trillion medicare deficit. Almost $60 trillion in debt.<<<

The $60 trillion (explicit and implicit) debt doesn’t include shortfalls in military and civil service retirement/medical Trust Funds nor the projected costs of entitlements such as Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income (SSI) and the rising costs of the Earned Income Tax Credit.

The total amount is inestimable, but is almost certainly beyond a $100 trillion. With an assumed interest rate of 5%, if total unfunded federal obligations were monetized, the interest on the debt would be almost twice the amount government is currently spending.

Kpainfish >>>So what do you do about it?<<<

Survival Starter Kit:
1, Reduce spending too basic needs.
2. Get out of debt.
3. Buy “Real Money”, i.e. American Gold and Silver Eagles, keep in a safe place and hope it is never needed.
4. Develop skills that will be needed even in hard times and/or consider cash purchase of a “safe-haven” in a low-wage country.
