taxman - re: i'm leaving my chips there on the basis that they will soon set the environment and the rules of the game regarding hardware like microsoft does with software. As you probably know, I have a substantial investment in DELL, so I am also a believer in the company's potential. But DELL will never set the rules of the game. They are a fast follower - they let others spend the money to get markets or technologies started, then DELL develops a product concept which mines the richest vein of that market. This is what being a fast follower is all about, and DELL is the best in the game at it. But that means, BY DEFINITION and by design, that they will never get out in front and try to set the rules.
