That, at least is not disputed. Apparently there are some who purport that the variant of "Moslem" developed for a particular reason which was perhaps more than adventitious. I couldn't say. I read that Zulm was a Hindi word meaning tyranny or oppressor. There is no doubt that some Muslims consider the variant offensive, for they have said so. Perhaps their offense is misguided, but I have no reason not to be inoffensive to them...
