Why all the depressing news
i think, and you know, it's at least two fold.

First, only news worth reporting is bad news.
It gets the ratings.
Think about it.

and second, no one wants to hear how well someone else is doing, at least not on a regular basis.
That's too depressing.
People hear how bad someone else has it
and they think "Hey, my life isn't so bad.
Look this, or that can happen to me.
That would be worse."
So it gives people a false sense
Ot things being better than they are.
If that makes any sense to you.
