OT You'll be stopping in Qatar or UAE, depending on the airline. If you have time, step out there and look around. Then maybe Syria. ISIL forgot to destroy some places of cultural interest, and I've always wanted to go there since dailymotion.com, released shortly before things went to hell there. Might be interesting to see if/how the new regime is putting things back together there. Then, of course Egypt. There's plenty to see beyond the Pyramids. After that, maybe hop on Turkish Airlines to Turkiye.
