Dave -- Maybe less philosophical, but no less wise. I've been out of action for most of the past six weeks -- traveling, bought a house -- but the market certainly does seem wildly unpredictable. It looks like a grinder's market: take it day by day, stay restrained, focus on the trades that are there, ignore the ones that aren't, go on vacation occasionally to stay fresh.
