Completion Program - Sneddon,

June 14, 2001 (SLM - CDNX) ... Santa Catalina Mining Corp. (the "Company")
is pleased to announce that the completion program will be commencing
shortly on the Sneddon deep gas well in northern Alberta. The well is
currently cased and awaiting a service rig to begin completion on several
gas zones. The planned program will begin by perforating the main
Kiskatinaw sand which tested gas on an abbreviated Drill Stem Test. The
completion program is designed to determine maximum flow rates and
reserves on this zone.

After the main sand is completed, work will move uphole to
complete 2 additional sands (an upper Kiskatinaw sand for additional
production, and the Bluesky for evaluation). It is anticipated that
production can be brought onstream within 60 days of successful testing.
Due to wellbore and regulation limitations, only 2 sands can be produced
concurrently from any one well. Additional drilling locations are summer
accessible and will be picked immediately following the completion program.
