True, but I think the worry was all the insiders would sell and affect MSFT's share price adversely. I merely pointed out that the typical MSFT employee will not sell (all at once). I just neglected to mention Steve's name in the list. Well over 25% of the stock is tightly held by a handful of people and they aren't about to sell in unison either. They're unbelievably rich, they work for the excitement of it, not for the money. If they where just interested in money, they'd be out, retired and on a beach in Hawaii years ago.

It's the same as asking what would happen if a major mutual fund sold, which BTW one has. The stock dropped 25-30% and recovered when they realized what a dumb move selling a cash cow like MSFT was. Or maybe, they are in fact really smart and just repurchased on the drop.
