Equinix posts wider loss, says review found no options wrongdoing
Monday August 14, 7:36 pm ET

Equinix Inc. on Monday posted a wider second-quarter loss and said that an internal review into its past stock-option granting practices found no evidence of company wrongdoing.
The Foster City-based provider of data centers and Internet exchange services (NASDAQ:EQIX - News) reported a net loss for the second quarter of $5.3 million, or 19 cents per share, compared to $5.1 million, or 18 cents per share, a year ago.

Its revenue rose 31 percent to $68.5 million.

Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial had projected a loss of 19 cents per share on $68.3 million in revenue.

Equinix said it took an additional stock-based compensation cost of $445,000 for the second quarter, but that the company does not need to restate its previously filed financial statements.

Equinix said earlier this month that an internal review found that the dates on some options differed from their recorded grant dates.

Equinix received a subpoena in late June from the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of California requesting documents related to option grants.
