Since you seem to want to conduct yourself in a fashion suitable for a Yahoo board, why don't you move your half of the discussion over there?

My only point in bringing this up at all was that you see so wildly impressed with the MS result when it has very little to do with the real world. People who actually have serious database applications of that kind of scale don't pick the database or the platform based on a benchmark like this whose only real use is for marketing types to run around saying "mine is bigger than yours". Having MS throw a ton of iron at the benchmark and getting a big number only means that SQL Server is better than it used to be. In fact, from what I hear, it isn't bad and might even be an interesting option ... if it was only available on Unix.
