Sure, you are right, there is BK risk.

I would advise you though to believe less in the market and other people's opinions. Every bear has a reason why X will fall. Every seller has a reason which pushes stocks to ridiculous levels. I am not saying they are wrong on SPF - they may be right, but if you believe that market is efficient and correctly predicts BK or future trouble, you will never buy RTRSY in single digits. I can guarantee people were predicting total collapse of Reuters at that time too. :/

BTW, people "in the business" are sometimes even worse in predicting the future than people outside of it. They see the disaster around them and they extrapolate that it will never end. They see friends and colleagues losing jobs, not making sales/money, prices collapsing. All this does not mean that they have any better knowledge for the future. If they did, they would be multimillionaires by now. Ask how many of them were sure that housing market is great and will continue up indefinitely in 2005-2006...

I agree with you that you should not buy SPF now though. :)
