I agree. Negative campaigning can and does do that. And it does it particularly well when a candidate doesn't make a strong case for her/his political identity. In that respect, Casey should have a walk since the family has a long history in Pa politics. And it might be enough to get him through.

But he's not a candidate that generates warmth. And, unfortunately, far too many voters pick personalities they like rather than politicians who support policies they prefer.
