Hi Ted: Thanx for the update, I had to go check but ,AOL does indeed now have a 32 bit winsock just when they got it I'm not sure, but I do know that just a little over 2 months ago they didn't have it for general use.
If a person gets AOL software on a new computer, ( one of the older
models) they may need to update the software. My concern was I just
set up a Gateway..for a friend that came with AOL software and the software was the 16bit version. So I guess not all the box makers have
updated the version they hand out.
Here is some info from Navigator;
Step 2: Download and install Netscape Navigator.
Download Netscape Navigator from AOL by selecting Go To, Keyword, and typing
"http://home.netscape.com/comprod/mirror/client_download.html". If
you are using the 16 bit AOL 3.0, make sure you download the Windows 3.1 version of Netscape Navigator, NOT the Windows 95 version. (The Windows 95 version of Navigator will not work with AOL's Windows 3.x software, even though you are using Windows 95.) You can download and use either the Windows 3.1 or Windows 95 version of Netscape Navigator if you are using 32bit AOL 3.0. this is relitivly new
Ideally you should download this file into an empty directory, or move it to an empty directory after you download it. Make a note of the directory into which you downloaded the file. When you have finished downloading the file, click on Cancel to return to the Netscape menu.

You are right I am very negitive about AOL.
As far as being fair to AOL I have no problem with that, just about
the worse thing I can think of to say about them is still a
compliment..AOL is not concerned with being fair.
People trying to get refunds are still getting hasseled,
the AGs should never have had to get involved..and that cost
every one, I think AOL should be made to pay punitive fees
to offset the taxpayers cost for all the time the AGs had to put
into twisting thier arm. You did not mention the fact
they still run 14.4 modems on the majority of the dialins, every
other ISP I know of has gone to 28.8 or better.
