"We're going to introduce a wideband CDMA phone in the third quarter of next year for the European market," Park said at a Samsung roadshow in the French capital.

Park said the phone, which can handle both the W-CDMA and CDMA2000 third-generation standards, would use a new chip announced by Qualcomm last week.

"We need that chip for the Korean market too," he said, adding that both of Korea's main carriers had adopted the Wideband CDMA standard.

What chipset are they talking about?

They seem to be describing a W-CDMA/1x multimode chipset....the MSM6600 would qualify but Q hasnt even given a sample date for that chipset. The MSM6250 and MSM6500 dont have all of the standards described and the dates dont match up (since they are sampling in 2nd Q '03).

If he is talking about the MSM6200, I would hope that handsets would be available before the third quarter of next year (since it began sampling in June '02).

Am I forgetting a chipset?
