Actually, I was always under the impression that most of the federal aid for private reconstruction was in the form of low interest loans not outright grants of money wonder how many of those gov't owned repossessed houses that are now being considered for homesteading were a product of the previous disaster low interest loan subsidized reconstruction....heh
