Well, my general point is that when a stock loses 50% of its value due to revenue/earnings shortfall, there is no reason to "reward" either management or the employees.

If things had gone differently, the employees would have been rewarded through the increased value of the stock options. Are they to be equally rewarded when things go badly?

If so, then what incentive do stock options give the employees? Either way, they get rewarded.
