Novell's Southeast Asian Sales Soar by 80 Percent, ST Says

Singapore, Dec. 6 (Bloomberg) -- U.S.-based Novell Inc.,
the second-largest maker of computer-network software, saw
revenue in Southeast Asia increase by 80 percent in the last
fiscal year on sales of new products and on sales in Malaysia,
the Straits Times reported, citing Sam Ghebranious, the
company's Asean managing director. Novell sold $5.6 million
worth of products for the end of year ended October, which made
up about a fifth of Asia-Pacific's sales, the paper said. Asean
is expected to contribute up to a quarter of the company's
turnover in the Asia-Pacific region by the fiscal year 2000 as
companies and governments in the region improve their network
software.

Shares of Novell Inc. fell 4.2 percent after fiscal fourth-
quarter sales rose less than expected and the company said
growth will slow further next year.
